Let me now step back a second and explain.
To inherently understand a device or piece of technology and it's capabilities, you must understand it's mechanisms, understand it's components, understand it's construction, and to have enough experience with the device to know how to use it. Which in my experience usually involves taking it apart as well as possibly (probably) breaking it and repurposing it from it's original manufactured one.
There is a magic to trying to understand a thing, even if you can only acquire a bit of knowledge from it at that time based on your current skill. Trust me that same action 6 months later will have a whole other magic of explanation.
Curiosity in this world is a rarity, to be willing to look at something from a different point of view and question it. Is something that they will burn you at the stake for, and worth every injury and electrical shock I've experienced.
Now WTF am I waxing on about.
This is one of those times that i need to spread that curiosity once again (no not that kind of spread curiosity, you questionable lot). But thinking something a little more organized this time and with some regular meetings.
Going to start out with a monthly meeting of the local #DC250 group and from there plan some weekly events, thinking 4 a month.
Thinking lock picking night, Where we will practice lockpicking and teaching people how to pick locks and different styles of locks / maybe a night where we go out and clean up locks off the bridges ?
RF / Projects nights - Bring your current project or radio frequency equipment of choice, and come make some chaos with us at qv's?
Movie Night (thinking black and white or hacker movie themed of MST3k, that kind of thing)
Fox Hunt / Clue Finding nights - Not sure how feasible it is to do monthly yet, but thinking some kind of rf fox hunting clues where you must answer questions to get the frequency to hunt the rf fox (or regular clues). Kind of thinking there will be an rf edition as well as a regular clue finding expedition downtown vic in the area and have to follow the clues to get to the end?
As you can tell there is a lot of this to still hash out, what is to be done and when / where.
But this summer, if i'm going to have my first plans squashed, by goddess I'm going to make some magic happen elsewhere.
